GRG's Mountain Bike Tours

Kathmandu Day Tour (1 Day)
If you just want to get out of the city for a day, then hop on a bike with us and enjoy a leisurely ride out into the countryside of the lower valley, passing through some traditional villages and stopping at an ancient temple for a picnic lunch. You can even sample some local food or chang (fermented barley drink) along the way. We can also arrange a sightseeing day tour that takes in all the best sightseeing highlights of Kathmandu like Bhaktapur, Durbar Square, Patan, Bouldanath Stupa Etc.

Down Hill Tour (1 Day)
Everybody’s (especially the guides!) favorite tour would have to be our down hill tour. We take an early morning drive to the hill stations of either Nagarkot or Kakani, enjoy a leisurely breakfast with stupendous mountain views, before rolling our way either on road or off road, depending on your mood, back into the valley for lunch and a cold beer.

Valley Rim Tour (11 Days can be shortened if you would like)
We offer two valley rim tours, one long (7 Days) and one short (3 days) or we can make you your own itinerary if you just let us know how long you want to bike for and what you want to see. During our valley rim tours, you will visit many temples around the valley, enter the jungle in Shivapuri, experience magnificent mountain views from Nagarkot, Dhulekhel and Lakuri Banyan. Biking the Kathmandu valley is one of the best, not to mention the most environmentally friendly ways to get around and experience the culture of the people who inhabit the region. Valley rim tours can be adapted for any fitness or skill level, but to get the most out of your tour you should have basic fitness and be used to riding a bike for a few days in a row.

Pokhara to Kathmandu – 13 days (can be shortened as you like)
For those who have a little more time, this is a fantastic tour that starts in the sunny lakeside town of Pokhara and traverses through the lush Annpaurna and Langtang foothills to Kathmandu. Chiefly following old trading routes, this ride passes through the historical towns of Ghorkha and Trusili Bazaars on its meandering course, taking in the rich local culture of Tamang, Gurung and Chettrie peoples and not to mention platefuls of the national staple food, Dhal Bhat (rice and Lentil soup).

Annapurna Circuit(11/17 Days)
This journey is a combination of biking and trekking, but as progression develops the trail to bring amenities to the remote villages, the way is becoming more and more bike friendly and will certainly offer you the experience of a life time. The route takes you around the massive Annapurna range and back into the Pokhara Valley, passing between the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massifs.

Lhasa to Kathmandu (23 Days)
For the keen cyclist, this is perhaps one of the most exciting bike trips in the world, not to mention one of the most challenging. This epic route takes you overland from the lush valley of Lhasa all the way to Nepal, crossing six 5000metre plus passes on the way and ending with the worlds longest down hill off the Tibetan plateau to the border.

Ladakh By Mountain Bike (17 Days)
A beautiful but very challenging journey from the lushly jungled foothills to the arid high altitude plains surrounding the ancient city of Leh. This Himalayan journey takes you into the heart of Himalayan India. The scenery changes along the road as we climb towards the Himalaya; we leave behind green tea gardens and fields, entering broad valleys and pine forests, along the way we pass through many traditional wooden housed villages before the challenging assent into the sparse high altitude dessert with breathtaking views of the mountains.
