Alex Mondau - Washington (Trisuli Sept 2011) - We rafted the Tirsuli in high water with Maila and GRG Adventure Kayaking and it was nothing short of an amazing day. They make sure you have quality gear that fits, the boys cook up a delicious meal on the river and are very conscious of being good stewards nature along the way. Chrissy handled all the booking like a pro! This is the second trip I've done with them and looking forward to booking some  longer adventures next year!

Barney Fontaine - UK (Sun Kosi May 2011) - Fantastic! We went into to GRG to find out  about different rafting trips and when we said that we were interested in learning to do some   white water kayaking if possible they advised the Sun Kosi trip and then advertised until  they   had recruited enough other people to put on the trip on the dates we could make (we were very time limited/specific).
The river is beautiful, I have done quite a few day trips white water rafting in other places and although the rapids were not as big as some you can find in Nepal there was enough to make it exciting, to break up the pools/slow water stretches, and to feel very exciting once we were getting a bit more proficient in the kayaks. Scenery meant you were never bored.
The team: we had one raft of clients, one kit boat and two/three safety kayakers at any time.Maila was the main man and was very aware of safety issues but kept it fun, Dipak on the kit boat for most but did lead us through some of the rapids was great, Jeevan and Utta were again fantastic either when being our safety kayakers or on the safer stretches teaching us how to get eskimo rolling and choosing lines through the rapids etc. Maila and Jeevan compete at the highest level in kayaking, Dipak is a freelance guide who works in a few different places around the world and I am sure Uttar will be at their level very soon.
Overnighting etc: strike camp about 9-10am after a cooked breakfast and get on the go, stop for lunch by the river for about an hour and then go again until about 5pm. camping on lovely sand beaches each night (couple have waterfalls to wash in), food was amazing and plenty of it, plenty of hot drinks too.
Cost: very reasonable!
Kit: they gave us dry bags, tents etc. Boat was in excellent condition and kayaks likewise.

Great trip, thanks to you all!

Tom Airnes - Manchester (Trisuli and Bhote Kosi rafting, April 2011) - Fantastic.  Really well organised trip. They made us feel very safe through out the trip. Camping next to   the river was amazing. After a full day rafting we arrived at the beach to find all our tents   already up and dinner was being cooked. Felt really looked after throughout the trip. We   enjoyed the Trisuli rafting trip so much that we booked another days rafting with GRGs on the   Bhote Kosi, which was another brillant day. Going back to Nepal next year and we will   definatley booking trips with GRGs again.

Jessica Harrap - OZ (Trisuli rafting, Nagarkot Excursion, Jan 2011) - GRG's has a   professional, cool calm and collected manner which made us feel completely at ease and sightly   more confident getting started. On the river, the fact that there were experienced safety guides   all around us, I felt like I was in good hands and relaxed and just loved every minute of it! I   almost wanted to fall out! Malia and the boy’s local knowledge was very insightful. But more   than anything they made the whole trip soooo entertaining. By the end of the two days I felt like   I had made some great friends. I had an absolute ball!
I would recommend GRG adventures to anyone! The contribution of safety, professionalism,   humour and good value ticks all the boxes. Thanks so much guys!

Glenn Jarman - UK (Sun Kosi Nov 2010) - The Sun Kosi trip was great. We were so well  looked after both on and off the river. On the river the safety kayaking was absolutely solid   which is so important when you're tackling stuff that's well outside your comfort zone - knowing   that the people with you know the river inside out and if something does go pear-shaped will be   there almost instantly to help sort it out. Off the river too, the attention to our comfort, hapiness   and well-being was spot on. From transporting our kayaks to lining up a taxi back from the   airport, from setting out the candles on the beach to making sure we had enough food - we   were properly taken care of. The team were great and were a huge part in making it such a   great trip.

Laura Karvinen-UK- (Kayak Clinic Feb 2009) The kayaking trip was my most memorable   experience while in Nepal! Absolutely lovely, well trained staff and fantastically organised!   Enough instructors with a great sense of humor who made it fun and safe at the same time!   Everything on our trip ran smoothly... from tents being put up for us, all great kayaking   equipment... delicious meals and even a self built toilet for us all for an unbelievably generous   price. Overall fabulous!

Cara Rudio (Karnali Oct 2010) - When I booked my trip to Nepal, I   didn't really know what to expect, but it turned out to be the absolute most amazing trip I have   ever taken! The scenery was incredible and the whitewater was spectacular, but what really   made the trip so great was the GRG's crew. You could tell how much they absolutely loved   their jobs by how happy they were no matter what. Their passion for the river and Nepal was   totally contagious -- you couldn't help but get absolutely wrapped up in the experience, loving   every minute of it! They honestly treated us like friends, not clients. (Except, of course, that   they were waiting on us hand and foot!) The scenery and whitewater will be the same no matter   what outfitter you use, but you'll never find a crew as fun and passionate as the GRG's team!

Kristin Kudebeh- Colorado, USA. (Rafting Trisuli, Bhote Kosi and Seti and Kayak   Clinic 2009) I have been on trips with Maila four times- once kayaking and 3 times rafting.   Every time I had a wonderful experience. Great people came on the trips and Maila and the   crew were fabulous. All the boys at the camp were dedicated to having the tents, food and fire   ready when we arrived. The food (especially) was great. Kuring Ghat where we camped was   beautiful and the awesome company in the form of safety kayakers, cooks and fellow rafters   made each trip the best I’ve ever been on. Thanks GRG’s!!! I'll be back!!!

Richard and Sue, England- (Trisuli Rafting 2008) We had a fantastic time with GRG's   rafting on the beautiful Trisuli River. Although we were novices to rafting in Nepal we needn't   have worried. Maila and his team took superb care of us - paying particular attention to safety. But this didn't detract from the excitement! We had several surprises during the day. First, just how scenic the area was. Second, amazement that the Team Maila guys - who were really great fun to be with - could prepare such a delicious lunch on the riverbank. Third - a bit of a   relief really - that the river wasn't at all cold! GRG's thoughtfully provided all the wet suit gear   we needed. And fourth, that as comparative "oldies" just how much we enjoyed ourselves. We   want to come back for a longer trip. Thanks!

Alex Linghorn - London, England. (Sun Kosi and Trisuli Rafting, Kayak Clinics 2009)   Maila and Kali, thank you very much. I had a great trip with you last year and two again this year in 2009. The rafting was great fun and now I have been learning kayaking I am addicted!Your trips are the best mix of fun, enthusiasm, safety and expertise, and great food! Thank you,I will recommend you to everyone I meet. www.lexphoto.co.uk.

Jenn Button - Canada (Annapurna Trekking 2010). A huge thank you to Maila and Chrissy for organizing an amazing trip for our group. The scenery was absolutley breathtaking and this was a trip I won't soon forget. Though whattruely made the trip unforgettable was the unbelievable experience we had becasue of GRG's. Maila and our porters made the trek physically challenging yet they seemed intune with us and offered breaks when we needed them when we arrived at a rest stop for a meal or orvernight. They always seemed to know exactly what we wanted but yet allowed us the freedom to choose our own meals if we wanted something abit different. They gave us the right amount of space to enjoy the trip on our own yet were never too far away to join in for a laugh or an offer of Nepali tea! Hopefully I get   back to Nepal again and if I do, I will definatley book my trip with GRG's!!

Sabastian Hexspoor - The Netherlands.(Rafting, Kayak Clinic and Mountain Biking 2009) Rafting

with GRG's was great! Everything is arranged from the beginning until the end of the trip. The guides and Kayak team take good care of you which made my experience even more beautiful, they make sure you will enjoy the beauty of Nepal and they can tell you everything about the rivers and the villages along the rivers. The river doesn't get boring so I went a second time myself and enjoyed the bigger adventure of kayaking! This was even more exciting and the guides are real pro's which made me feel safe! It's a life experience I will never   forget.

Jeremy Lyen – London, UK (Trisuli Rafting, Kayak Clinic and Mountain Biking   2009)- In short, GRG’s is amazing!! and believe me, that us an understatement. Maila and his   team are utterly wonderful. They organised the entire trip so the rest of us could have a   wonderful time and not have to worry about anything (apart from staying in the kayak). They   also provided all the necessary safety equipment for us. I started on the Trishuli River having   never kayaked in my life before, but on the first morning they taught us everything we needed to   learn and were very patient with me; and let’s be honest here they needed to be very patient   with me, I fell in after only 5 minutes. Even so, the team took me back to the beach, emptied   my kayak and got me going again without a fuss. After a spot of lunch that the rest of Maila’s   team had prepared for us, we set off down the rapids. Yes, it was absolutely terrifying at first,   but none of us ever felt scared or unsafe because we were all in smaller groups with our own   safety kayaker with us all the way. It very quickly became pure exhilaration! One of the most   fun things I’ve ever done, so much so that I went 3 weekends with GRG’s and it was brilliant   every time. I even eventually managed to nail the Eskimo roll. The team are such good   teachers. On the second day Maila also let us chose whether we wanted to go kayaking or   rafting. It’s completely flexible with them.
When the sun set behind all the surrounding valleys, with the sky burning bright red and not a   cloud in the sky we got back to the camp, having been greeted by a warming cup of tea. After   getting changed back into our warm, dry clothes we got a large bonfire going and watched the   stars come out one at a time, lighting up the heavens. Not too long later the GRG team finished   making dinner. It was delicious. That is not an exaggeration, it really was; and completed a   wonderful day. This was topped off with a dash of beer and some of the local brews from the   nearby market.
I have also had the pleasure of going on a cycling trip with GRGs. This was a great way of   getting close to the untouched culture of the Kathmandu’s surrounding valleys. It was great fun   as well, albeit tiring especially, if like me you’re a tad on the unfit side, especially shooting down   the dirt tracks and some rocky roads, and weaving up and down the mountain passes. They   also take great care of you on this as well. When I picked up an injury Maila stayed back to   help me out and lead me around at a slower and more manageable pace. It was a brilliant day.
So all in all, I would love to thank GRG’s, Maila and his team, for making my time in Nepal   absolutely amazing and one to be treasured forever. Thank you.

Scott and Rowena - England, U.K.(Rafting, Kayak Clinic, Bungy and Trekking 2010)-   We love GRG! When we first arrived in Nepal we were tired, hungry and cold. Chrissy and   Maila found us accommodation, fed us momos and planned our three week stay. We did   everything through GRG - bungy jumps, canyon swings, kayaking, rafting and trekking. We   especially loved our three days on the river and cannot imagine a better, safer company to be   with than GRG. We were looked after beautifully and each of us had our own personal safety   kayaker to escort us down each rapid - perfect as we were total beginners. The food at the   beach camp was excellent, Maila's impromptu yoga lessons were hilarious and we loved sitting   around the campfire drinking hot chocolate after a hard day's kayaking. Our final activity with   GRG was the 5-day Poon Hill trek in the Annapurnas. We can really recommend it if you only   have limited time, and GRG's guide Nanda is lovely and really experienced. Maila's running   commentary kept us in stitches throughout the trek and soon we were truly 'feelin' the   atmosphere, seein' the village life guys'. To quote the legendary man himself, 'use the time as a   moment' and book with GRG!

Lee Rogers - England, UK (Trisuli, Belephi and Bhote Kosi Kayaking 2009)- We   would like to say thanks and recommend GRG's Adventure Kayaking who helped us get   straight onto the water upon arrival (we got to Kathmandu at 8pm sat night and were on the   water at 11am the next day!). They were great at sorting the logistics and as extra help on the   water while you get used to the bigger volume, not to mention sorting food and kit so you don't   have to have heavy boats. We did an extra trip with them at the end too. Read More...

Jenny Duin - The Netherlands (All sorts! 2008-2010)- I have known Maila for a long   time,   I have seen him rafting and kayaking on the Bhote Khosi river many times and I Joined a few   rafting trips with him on this river. With GRG's it is always a big blast, a lot of fun and good   activity. Their fully trained staff take care of you on the rivers. If you want to rent kayaks and   gear it is also possible, I have done this aswell. Looking forward to paddle with GRG's this   season. Stop by the office to meet Chrissy, she will arrange everything for you form the   paperwork to providing you the perfect memory of your time on the rivers, by sending you a   full photo gallery. Love you GRG's!!

Bonnie Shepherd - Canada (Annapurana Trekking 2010)I highly recommend GRG   Adventures to anyone interested in undertaking a trek in Nepal. The staff at GRG is   AMAZING! They go above and beyond to ensure a positive experience for everyone on the   trek. Every detail was taken care of, the arrangements were top-notch, and I was even   impressed with their ability to handle challenging situations. I can't wait to come back and do   another adventure with them, and I definitely recommend them to anyone considering doing an   adventure activity in Nepal

Tim Burn- England - I sold my boat to Chrissy and Maila at GRG. Helpful, friendly and   based in Kathmandu, so if you want to rent a much loved and not so well trained Large Burn   out there, then you know where to head... I think they're building up their boat collection, and   as Maila has won the Nepali class of the last 3 Peak Himalayan Challenges they have a rapidly   growing selection of playboats in their lock-up - useful to know if you've got a creekboat, but   want to rent something more playful for a blast down the Trisuli or another easier run.. Richie Mehta - Canada (Poon Hill Trekking 2010)- I had a wonderful trekking adventure   with GRG's, as the name promised. It was physically and emotionally challenging, and equally   rewarding, and GRG always took care of our group - whether it was the right diet, pacing on   the long trek, weather preparedness, or even appreciation of what we saw and whom we met -   but they never over did it to make us feel coddled or pampered. The 5-day trail is not an easy   route, and yet GRG allowed us to build our stamina over the course of the journey, giving us   the confidence and strength to easily overcome any obstacle by the end. I can't wait to return   for another, more involving adventure.
