Canyoning

Canyoning is one adventure sport that gets you off the beaten track and cannot be missed by the adrenaline seeker. Shimmying dowAll GRG guides have been trained by members of the UK Canyon Guide Association.

Whilst Canyonning, you journey though narrow passages of rock which have been contoured by ages of rushing water from the Himalayan snow melts and heavy monsoon rains. Basically, it is the sport of traveling down canyons using a variety of techniques including walking, scrambling, climbing, cliff jumping, abseiling and swimming. It requires good navigational skills, rope work, swimming ability and a good level of fitness and upper body strength.

There are two canyon sites we are currently using offering great 1-2 days trips. Or new to 2012, if you are interested in doing more we can offer a 3 day training course where we will teach you everything you need to know about becoming a canyoning guide. Our two sites (Chauraudi and Jalberi) are both centrally located between Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan so it makes an ideal one day trip to break up those boring bus journeys. These are most definatley the best canyon sites on offer in Nepal

Once we get there you will be given a harness and helmet and after a comprehensive safety briefing we'll start teaching you how to climb and abseil. and we are rady to go...

The largest waterfall we run is about 26 meters. Sometimes, we slide and sometimes we jump directly into the clear pools below. After around 3 1/2 hours of adrenaline fuelled fun we'll stop for a picnic lunch before the drive back to Kathmandu, Chitwan or Pokhara or if you prefer a night on our Trisuli river camp. A trip not to be missed!!!

Why not try our 'ROCK AND RAFT' trip. One day rafting and one day canyoning with beach camp over night. It's our most popular trip! Departs daily from Kathmandu, Chitwan or Pokhara.

This trip deaprts daily all year round.
