Canyoning in Nepal’s Beautiful Wilderness

Canyoning is one adventure sport that gets you off the beaten track and cannot be missed by the adrenaline seeker. Shimmy down a water fall is somewhat like kayaking without a boat....now that sounds like fun!
Whilst Canyonning, you journey though narrow passages of rock which have been contoured by ages of rushing water from the Himalayan snow melts and heavy monsoon rains. Basically, it is the sport of traveling down canyons using a variety of techniques including walking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, abseiling and swimming. It requires good navigational skills, rope work, swimming ability and a good level of fitness and upper body strength.

In Nepal there are several places where you can go Canyoning-

The Panglang Khola
Panglang Khola is a pristine canyon very near to the Last Resort offering a challenging introduction to what Canyoning is all about. This canyon prepares people for the Kahaule Khola and other canyons with a lot of abseiling. You'll learn how to control your descent as well as use all the Canyoning gear we provide. It’s the ideal canyon for beginners.

The Kanglang Khola
Is one level up from Panglang and introduces you to jumping and sliding not to mention some spectacular abseils. It gives you the chance to develop and challenge your skills. The walk up to Kanglang Khola has beautiful views of the snow peaks on the Tibetan Plateau and the green Nepali valleys.

The Bhukuthe Khola
Nepal’s newest canyon is the limit of technical commercial Canyoning. This spectacular high volume canyon has a lot of abseils including a phenomenal 60 meter drop where you have to lower yourself (with the aid of your guide of course!). A very scenic 40 minute walk through fields and forests and a 10 minute walk back to the Last Resort means you have one of the world’s most beautiful canyons right at your doorstep. This is a canyon not to be missed!
